I recently upgraded my B7500 for a Grand L3130. Super happy with the new toy. I have a trailer that I used for the 7500 and am concerned over the weight of the 3130. The trailer has a gross load capacity of 4400 pounds. I have loaded the 3130 and made a couple short trips but think I am overweight. Can anyone tell me the live weight of a L3130, loaded R4s, 732 FEL? Thanks muchly.

According to the Kubota web site, the tractor with HST weighs 3305 lbs. With your FEL and loaded tires, I do not know how much you weigh, but my guess is that you are exceeding the limit of your trailer. Art could tell you for sure, but I am guessing that you FEL weights 700 lbs and having the tires loads probably adds an extra 400 to 500 lbs? Art, how close is my guessing? ....

Get a bigger trailer.

Even if you were under the weight limit the trailer will not handle well on the road. ....

Ben, it depends on what went into the tires. When we mix the calcium we use 55 gallon drums with probably 50 gallions of water and then add about 200 lbs of calcium to it and you add about one per tire that size. He does need a new trailer for his load. The 7000lb rated 16 and 18 foot long landscapers are as cheap to by as any. The extra length of the 18' gives you some room to move the load to help the truck carry it's part of the load better. ....

Even without the weighted tires you're overweight. The trailer must weigh 1000 lbs so you would be at the weight limit with just the tractor. I've got the same setup without loaded tires and my 7000 lb utility trailer handles the weight nicely. I can nicely balance the load when the FEL is a few inches from the front trailer rail.

I have the same tractor but with the BH90 hoe on it & My 7000 lb landscape trailer hauls it but doesnt like it. I am looking into a 10,000 Gvwr now. Get the right trailer now so you dont have regrets later. I haul mine every day. If you hauling yours once ina while I guess the 7000 lb would get you by. ....

Grasgod, look into Kaufman trailers.I just bought a 10 ton tandem duel and am very happy.price, quality, delivery time. They sell direct, no dealers and shipping is done by a few private delivery guys. About 250.00 anywhere in the country. I think it's www.kaufmantrailers.com I had a one ton duelly and a 7ton gooseneck before, go with a gooseneck if at all possible, they tow so nice. Backing them is a pain untill you get used to it. Finding that you really have to jacknife them hard to start. ....

Someone told me once when I was buying a boat, buy a good trailer because you will put more miles on the trailer then the boat. If you are in business with your tractor probably the same goes for the trailer for your tractor. ....

Lucerne - Thanks for the advise...your the second one to recommend that trailer Mrg. I will have to go with a regular tow unfortunatly because I use the truck body to haul tools & tampers & tractor attachments etc. I would rather a gooseneck otherwise. Where in Maine are you in reference to Sunday River (bethel)? ....

A toolbox ahead of the gooseneck in the truck body and a long trailer that hauls tractor and equipment? Just sold a one year old 25' 7 ton gooseneck for 3200. I'm ten miles east of Bangor on 1A, Bar harbor is about 30 east of me. Check this site out to find places, just keep zooming in, you probably can find your house. ....
